Helen Quenet
Hatfield Rural Candidate 2017

Helen QuenetI have lived in this area for over 20 years now and I love the semi-rural nature of our area. Hertfordshire is a very pretty county but I fear that the tide of housing in the local plan is very shortly going to sweep over us and weld us forever to North London. We need to fight to protect our greenbelt and our quality of life and we are running out of time. As a Borough Councillor for Welham Green and Hatfield South I have been pushing against the degradation of our communities by the flawed local plan.

I am running for County Council for Hatfield Rural because I love this area and want to do more to help. Schools, roads and social care are all key services for our people and it is vital that County Hall has strong opposition voices. Without strong opposition, ill thought out changes can be bulldozed through. Both Borough and County Councils need to be made to prove that their plans are the best possible ones for our area. I will ask the awkward questions that people from the ruling party are unwilling to.

I spent 15 years working in the NHS in Mental Health services; I now run my own business; I am a parent of two young men in their 20s and a support for my 86 year old Mum who lives in Potters Bar. My experiences in life mean I can empathise with people in all phases of life and I am a good listener, I am also tenacious. I can work with you make a difference in our area. Please give me the chance to make a difference on May 4th and vote for me.

Please contact me if you think I can help you, helen@welhatlibdems.org.uk.

Thank you.
